First, a little about the Green Toys. The toys are completely safe: no BPA, no phthalates, and no PVC. Just knowing that makes me thrilled to buy their products, because it's so hard to find toys that are worry free. The toys are eco-friendly: they are made from recycled milk jugs AND they are made right here in the USA.
Are you ready for the part that all parents will appreciate, especially on Christmas morning? The packaging is sooooo easy. It's a box. You open it. That's it. No puzzle twist ties, no plastic, no choking hazard packaging, no cursing at the people who make the toy impossible to get out of the box. It just... opens. God bless these Green Toys people.
Ok, enough gushing about the company and the box. How's the toy?
4 Toddler Thumbs Up For:
- Removable ladders on the sides - the kiddos get the biggest kick out of those. They like to see what random things they will fit in around the room. Will they fit in this cup? Can I hold two at once? Will two fit over here? Can I attach them back to the truck? Can I brush Mama's hair with them? Endless fun, I tell you.
- Main adjustable ladder - Kiddos very much enjoy putting the ladder up and down and turning it all the way around. Bonus: we've been testing this for weeks now and haven't managed to break it - TWIN PROOF!
- Rolls on multiple surfaces - We have both hardwood and carpet in our play area and the kiddos were able to roll it around themselves. We also tried it outside and it worked great in the grass too! This is the first toy of this type/size for us that rolls, so they are very much enjoying pushing it everywhere. They even managed to share it and push it back and forth to one another (admittedly, that only lasted about a minute, but it was remarkable anyway).
- Recognizable in real life - We live right down the road from a fire station. We hear sirens all of the time and see the fire trucks with their flashing lights. I think the fire trucks can be a little scary for the kiddos up close because they are so big and loud. It's really nice to be able to show the kiddos a toy that they can relate to what they see every day. So when we see the fire truck in real life, I can remind them that it's a lot like their toy fire truck.
Yay! We might just "need" one of these! Haha.

ReplyDeleteI've just recently heard and seen Green Toys. I just held an Upcycle Week on my blog and one of the stores I'm promoting carries them. So neat!
ReplyDeleteAny toy firetruck with an aerial ladder that doesn't immediately snap off is amazing. Trust me. We've been through so many with our 3 boys, it's not even funny.
